On 22 June 2008 despite strong winds, about 50 walkers took part in the "Walk a Mile for Myeloma" in Heaton Park. The walk was started off by Ivan Lewis, Care Minister and local MP. We were also accompanied by a Fire Engine from Blackley Fire Station. Much to the delight of the children at the end of the walk they were able to get on to the engine, try out the helmets etc.
At the end of the walk we enjoyed a light picnic supplied in part courtesy of Mark and Spencer and Tesco.
The walk raised in excess of £1200 for Myeloma UK.
